
The Lowcountry Continuum of Care Partnership is a coalition of organizations providing services to people who are homeless, have recently been homeless, or are at risk for being homeless. The Continuum has awarded more than $14.5 million to area service providers to support homelessness projects.

Financial Support
The Continuum is a good steward of financial resources. For every $1 it receives, it has made possible $45 in grant funds to area homeless projects.

History
The Lowcountry Continuum of Care was organized in 1995 in response to the availability of HUD’s first round of funding just for coalitions of agencies. Since HUD called these coalitions “Continuums of Care,” the name was adopted locally.
In 1997, the Continuum became an IRS 501(c)(3) tax exempt charity, initially including Berkeley, Charleston, and Dorchester counties. In 2005, the southern counties of Beaufort, Colleton, Hampton and Jasper were added.
Future Plans
By working together as a community, significant strides have been made in the Lowcounty to help our fellow citizens. However, there is much more to be done. The Lowcountry Continuum of Care Partnership has set forth the following goals:
